Position Overview
The Human Resources Manager will report to the Sr. Director of Human Resources and will be the dedicated Plant Human Resources Manager responsible to overseeing the development and administration of all human resources activities with our food and beverages manufacturing plant in Germantown, WI. Specifically, this position oversees a team of HR professionals to ensure effective payroll, benefits, LOA, recruiting, compensation, employee relations and development programs in coordination with corporate support teams. The Human Resources Manager will also partner with business leaders and modify programs to meet business objectives while ensuring legal compliance.
Job Responsibilities
- Manages the day-to-day workflow and functions of Human Resources for the facility.
- Collaborates and partners with department managers to identify gaps and development needs to design effective programs.
- Oversees the performance and development of the HR team which includes planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Promotes a positive work culture by fostering employee satisfaction, well-being, and engagement.
- Collaborates with the corporate support teams to recommend, interpret, formulate and administer Human Resources policies and practices regarding personnel, legal requirements, benefits and salary administration.
- Partners with CI team regarding manufacturing trainings, as well as recommend other value add training that helps improve organizational development, deliver and measure training and other educational sessions for effectiveness, ROI and changed behaviors.
- Provides oversight to recruiting and placement practices and procedures. Conducts interviews, assess skills, and makes hiring recommendations that align with the organization’s needs.
- Oversees the delivery of consistent and fair employee relations practices, investigations, staffing decisions across the organization.
- Manages formal responses and request for information from outside agencies (EEO, Unemployment, Workers Compensation, DWD, etc.) and collaborates with the outside counsel when appropriate.
- Ensures current and accurate information is relevant and available in the areas of exempt and nonexempt wage ranges, performance management, handbooks, etc.
- Establishes and monitors metrics to show the overall effectiveness in turnover, employee engagement, training ROI and employee relations.
- Determines and recommends employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee environment and promote a high level of employee morale, which include employee satisfaction surveys, employee rewards programs and events.
- Plans, schedules and executes specialized projects.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field.
- 5 or more years of progressive and relevant human resources generalist experience including demonstrated experience in management coaching, organizational design, employee relations, and compensation practices.
- Thorough understanding of all employment laws and their practical application in the workplace including, but not limited to, EEO, FMLA, FLSA, HIPAA, ADA, etc.
- Solid organizational skills with the ability to prioritize in a fast paced environment with multiple priorities.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills including problem identification, analysis, action planning and execution.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality by exercising tact and maturity in sensitive situations.
- Ability to interpret and understand policies and relate them to others.
- Knowledge of organizational development and coaching methods.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
- Values and embraces diversity.
- Ability to exercise initiative and judgment as well as make decisions within the scope of assigned authority.
- Proven track record of supporting change programs and partnering with business managers.
- Ability to influence and build credibility with leaders in the organization.
- Ability to understand the business strategy at a deeper level and tie it to HR strategies in order to drive results.
- Ability to drive success in a metrics focused organization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bi-Lingual (Spanish/English)
- SPHR/PHR certification
- Human Resources experience in a manufacturing environment
