PM Efficiency Improvement Operator

Job Responsibilities

  • Primary technical resource (SME) to the operations team, and is responsible for observing, directing and coaching the operations team as needed to achieve team safety, food safety, and delivery goals.
  • Accomplishes PM execution and PM optimization by reviewing equipment and system layouts and making specific recommendations for changes in procedures, frequency and training to accomplish measurable performance increases, and by documenting time to complete and evaluate results.
  • Evaluates team competencies against standards to enable the team to yield the quality and productivity required to meet customer demands.
  • Collaborates with FSQ team in order to develop new standards, procedures and documentation in order to improve measurable team competencies in quality execution.
  • Coordinates and works with the Continuous Improvement (CI) department to ensure machines are producing efficiently and effectively and is accountable for development of specific CI tasks including execution, training documentation and measurable results.
  • Drives compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) Policy as applicable in the facility.
  • Effectively conducts equipment change over evaluations, and optimizes change overs by reordering sequence, process and applied labor, as well as developing specific training documentation, to ensure minimal downtime with machinery and production.
  • Conducts machine downtime analysis and provides specific measurable actions and improvements to reduce machine downtime and improve mechanical availability.
  • Accountable for updating the percentages on the Line Productivity Plan daily.
  • Optimization and Execution of Clean-In-Place (CIP) and Sterilize-In-Place (SIP) processes by evaluating procedures, sequence of work, materials, machines, and training, in order to reduce time to complete, while still achieving food safety and quality, and overall line production goals.
  • Accountable for leading initial investigation of Loss of Sterility (LOS) events and material hold events, including reporting to and participating in cross functional team reduction activities and investigation of root cause, and development of corrective actions to reduce these instances.
  • Provides measurement plans, instructions and scheduling of tasks that will determine WIP losses, and along with continuous improvement teams, reduce WIP (work in progress) loss.
  • Accountable for educating and directing personnel on the use of aseptic process and filling equipment critical control points, CCP monitoring, and directs effective process corrections to avoid LOS, and to maintain aseptic conditions in non-standard operating conditions.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, plus five (5) years of experience in an FDA environment.
  • Experience in the food industry, aseptic background preferred.
  • Experience with bottling materials used in an FDA regulated environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated basic mechanical skills
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as customer specifications, technical procedures, and regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations by promoting and maintaining an inclusive work environment and culture that is respectful and accepting of diversity.
  • Ability and means to travel if needed; must possess a valid driver’s license and proof of valid insurance including liability and property damage coverage.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associates Degree
  • Sufficient technical competence with aseptic, Stork or similar bottling machines
  • Have the physical ability to occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds, reach overhead, climb, squat/bend/kneel, sit, and frequently stand, walk/move about
