Facility Cleaner

Department: Sanitation
Office: Gehl Southeast
Location: Walterboro, SC
Shift: 1st Shift

This position would be scheduled 11 am - 7:30 pm

Position Overview

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Facility Cleaner is responsible for performing general housekeeping duties to maintain clean work areas, bathrooms and kitchen areas in a professional office environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize bathrooms.
  • Clean sinks, countertops, microwaves, and refrigerators in break rooms.
  • Vacuum floors and dust surfaces in office areas.
  • Empty all trash cans and replace liners, clean receptacles as necessary.
  • Refill breakrooms, bathrooms, and handwashing stations with necessary supplies.
  • Clean windowsills and windows.
  • Clean/Maintain parking lot receptacles and pick up any debris around the lot.
  • Maintain janitor closets in a clean, organized, and safe manner.
  • Monitor cleaning supply levels. Alert supervisor when supplies are needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Strong detail orientation and organizational abilities
  • Ability to work effectively under time restraints and limited supervision
  • Ability to communicate and take direction in the English language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1 year of cleaning experience

Physical Activity:

Frequently: Squat/Bend/Kneel/Reach overhead and Lift/Carry/Push/Pull average of 25 lbs

Regularly: Stand/Walkabout

Occassionaly: Sit

Equipment Operated: Vacuum, duster, hand tools required to complete essential functions of the job

Working Conditions: Regularly exposed to extremely wet and varying temperature conditions between 64-100 degrees Fahrenheit, loud noise, moving machinery parts, airborne particles, allergens including soy, milk and milk by-products, and fumes from food processing equipment.
